1 Information We Collect
The Extension may process the following categories of information, depending on which features you use:
- Images you provide: photographs of your palm or face that you upload or capture for Palm Reading and Face Reading features.
- Personal details you enter: name, date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth, used for Numerology, Kundali Generation, Kundali Matching, and Vastu features.
- API keys: if the Extension's AI-powered features require a third-party AI provider key (for example, an OpenAI or Google Gemini API key), you may enter your own key to enable those features.
- Generated reports: the palmistry, numerology, kundali, chakra, and vastu reports produced from the information above.
- Language preference: your selected display language (English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, or Kannada).
We do not knowingly collect information from children, and the Extension is not directed at children under 13.
2 How Your Information Is Stored
- API keys are stored locally in your browser's extension storage (
chrome.storage) on your own device. We do not transmit your API key to EdCatalyst's servers, and we do not have access to it. - Photos, personal details, and generated reports are stored locally in your browser unless you choose to export, print, or share a report yourself.
- We do not operate a server-side database of user photos, birth details, or generated reports.
3 How Your Information Is Used
To generate AI-powered readings (palm, face, kundali, chakra, numerology, and match-making reports), the image or details you provide are sent directly from your browser to the third-party AI provider associated with the API key you entered, solely for the purpose of generating your requested analysis. This request is made using your own API key and is subject to that provider's own privacy policy and terms of service, which we encourage you to review.
We do not use your photos, personal details, or generated reports for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing the feature you requested.
4 Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
- We do not collect or store your browsing history outside of the Extension's own functionality.
- We do not use your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
5 Third-Party Services
Depending on the feature used, the Extension may send your request (including images or personal details you provide) to a third-party AI service using the API key you supply. EdCatalyst does not control, and is not responsible for, the privacy practices of these third-party AI providers. Please review the privacy policy of your chosen AI provider before use.
6 Data Retention
Data stored locally in your browser (API keys, saved reports, preferences) remains on your device until you delete it yourself or uninstall the Extension. Uninstalling the Extension removes its locally stored data from your browser, subject to your browser's own data handling behavior.
7 Your Choices & Rights
- You may clear or remove your stored API key, saved reports, and preferences at any time from within the Extension or via your browser's extension settings.
- You may uninstall the Extension at any time, which will remove its locally stored data from your browser.
- You may choose not to enter an API key or personal details, in which case AI-powered features will not be available, but you remain free to use any features that do not require them.
8 Permissions Used by the Extension
The Extension requests browser permissions only as needed to provide its features (for example, local storage for saving your API key and preferences, and access to the pages or APIs required to generate your readings). We do not request permissions unrelated to the Extension's stated functionality.
9 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Extension's functionality or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Extension after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
