AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) is a widely used symmetric encryption algorithm standardized by NIST. Below, we derive an AES key from your passphrase using PBKDF2 (SHA-256) with a random salt, then encrypt using AES-CBC with a random IV. To decrypt, you’ll need the same passphrase and the exact Salt + IV.
